I have decided to include a video projection at the beginning of my piece. It is going to be the opening of the work and set the stage for what is about to happen. I have sat down with my videographer to discuss our plan of attack.
1. We know that we want to shoot from a distorted angle, shooting from the ground up, focusing mainly on the plates. The body(ies) behind the plates are of lesser importance.
2. We want to shoot from this angle to show a place of the viewer being lower than what is happening. We are not on an even playing field and the fact that we are making you look up is immediately causing you to wonder what the value of these items are.
3. The idea is that this is in a flashback manner. It is linear but happens through snippets.
4. The film will go as follows: stacking of the plates, staring at the plates, crashing of the plates, restocking of the plates, creating a final swaying image "ignoring" what is stacked, or not stacked, behind you.
5. The entire piece will end with one more video snippet.
