After seeing my final video, I realized that this piece, while finished, will continue to be worked on. There is something so raw inside of the story, and the video has such a story as well. My next challenge for myself is to play with different ways to project: why does it need to be so large and on the cyc? Why do we stop and watch it? What if action happened during? Or if the video was smaller? What if the video was played twice, on two screens simultaneously? The questions and possibilities never end. There are forever options and ideas, and I must continue to play with them.
The movement has potential as well. With trying to focus more on the process and keep the piece at an available length, I feel as if the movement was fairly simply - there is so much more available there. I want to continue to search for that.
In my mind I see this work growing into a solo, with one projection screen. The dancer will be more gestural to begin and then grow into this phrase work.
I also want to spend sometime working with what happens after the plates crash...what does that mean? How does that relate back to the idea of passively searching? What are the plates?
